Announced.<\/em>.<sup>[1]<\/sup> <\/p>\n<p>The restaging protocol is similar to the primary staging protocol, with the following exceptions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>High-resolution T2-weighted techniques are recommended for optimal visualization of rectal and mesorectal anatomy and characterization of mesorectal lymph nodes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The recommended slice thickness is 3 mm and the in-plane resolution is 0.6 \u00d7 0.6 mm.<sup>2<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>A strict axial T2W sequence is recommended to obtain a wide field of view and cover all relevant compartments for nodule staging.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For more information, see Rectal Cancer.
