The combination of sotorasib and panitumumab outperformed researchers’ treatment of choice in a phase 3 trial in chemotherapy-resistant patients. class<\/em>G12C<\/sup>– Mutant metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC).<\/p>\n

Researchers tested the combination with two different doses of sotorasib and found that both doses improved progression-free survival (PFS). However, outcomes were better with higher doses of sotorasib.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe combination of sotorasib 960 mg and panitumumab has the potential to become a new standard of care for previously treated patients. class<\/em>G12C<\/sup>“It’s a mutated metastatic colorectal cancer,” said study researcher Filippo Pietrantonio, M.D., of the National Institute of Oncology Foundation IRCCS in Milan, Italy.<\/p>\n

Dr. Pietrantonio is a member of the Phase 3 CodeBreak 300 study (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT05198934<\/a>), at ESMO Congress 2023.<\/p>\n

CodeBreak 300 enrolled 160 patients with the following symptoms: class<\/em>G12C<\/sup>– Mutant metastatic CRC who has received at least one type of therapy and whose disease progressed during or after administration of fluoropyrimidine, irinotecan, and oxaliplatin.<\/p>\n

Patients were randomly assigned to one of three treatment groups.<\/p>\n
