The wound can then be sutured closed or left open to heal on its own.a <span data-tts=\"true\">hemorrhoidectomy<\/span> It is performed under general anesthesia.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Stapled hemorrhoidopexy<\/strong>: This is an alternative procedure in which the prolapsed hemorrhoid is stapled back into place with a circular device while cutting off the blood supply. Recovery time will be shorter, but hemorrhoids may return. General or local anesthesia may be used.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Doppler-guided hemorrhoid ligation<\/strong>: This is a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultrasound to locate arterial blood flow. The blood vessels are then tied and the prolapsed tissue is sutured back into place.
