It is connected to the fallopian tubes.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>corpus<\/strong>:The main body of the uterus. This is where the fertilized egg implants during pregnancy.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>isthmus<\/strong>: The part of the uterus between the uterine body and cervix. This is where the uterus begins to narrow and become thinner.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>neck<\/strong>:The lowest part of the uterus. The cervix opens into the vagina.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-identity=\"headline\" class=\"text-gray-900 font-bold leading-rem30px text-rem25px bp600:text-rem32px bp600:leading-rem38px mt-rem32px mb-rem16px break-words\">Where in your body is the uterus?<\/h3>\n<p data-identity=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"text-gray-800 my-rem16px text-rem19px leading-rem34px\">The uterus is located in the pelvis between the bladder and rectum. It is supported by the pelvic floor muscles and the perineal body. This expands during pregnancy and contracts to push the baby out.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>endometrium<\/strong>: The lining or endometrium of the uterus (endometrium). This layer of the uterus is shed during the menstrual cycle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-identity=\"headline\" class=\"text-gray-900 font-bold leading-rem30px text-rem25px bp600:text-rem32px bp600:leading-rem38px mt-rem32px mb-rem16px break-words\">How big is your uterus?<\/h3>\n<p data-identity=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"text-gray-800 my-rem16px text-rem19px leading-rem34px\">The uterus is approximately 3 inches from top to bottom and 2 inches wide at its widest point. It is approximately 1 inch thick and weighs approximately 1 ounce.<\/p>\n<h3 data-identity=\"headline\" class=\"text-gray-900 font-bold leading-rem30px text-rem25px bp600:text-rem32px bp600:leading-rem38px mt-rem32px mb-rem16px break-words\">How big is the uterus during pregnancy?<\/h3>\n<p data-identity=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"text-gray-800 my-rem16px text-rem19px leading-rem34px\">The uterus is one of the most unique organs in the body. During pregnancy, it can grow from the size of a lemon to the size of a watermelon. When your baby is born, your uterus can weigh up to 2 pounds. The uterus shrinks to its normal size (a process called involution) and position approximately 6 weeks after delivery (after childbirth).<\/p>\n<h3 data-identity=\"headline\" class=\"text-gray-900 font-bold leading-rem30px text-rem25px bp600:text-rem32px bp600:leading-rem38px mt-rem32px mb-rem16px break-words\">What position is the uterus in?<\/h3>\n<p data-identity=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"text-gray-800 my-rem16px text-rem19px leading-rem34px\">The uterus is in several positions. A typical uterus is tilted forward with the cervix pointing toward the abdomen. This is called &#8220;.&#8221; <strong>anteverted uterus<\/strong>. Most people have an anteriorly tilted uterus.<\/p>\n<p data-identity=\"paragraph-element\" class=\"text-gray-800 my-rem16px text-rem19px leading-rem34px\">If the uterus is not tilted forward, the following symptoms may occur:<\/p>\n<ul data-identity=\"unordered-list\" class=\"my-rem16px mx-0 pl-[1.25rem] list-disc marker:text-brandBlue-500 marker:pl-rem24px\">\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>retroversion of the uterus<\/strong>: Commonly referred to as uterine tipping or tipping. This is a condition in which the uterus is tilted or tilted backwards so that it curves toward the spine rather than forward toward the abdomen.<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb-rem12px pl-rem12px text-gray-800 text-rem19px leading-rem34px\"><strong>anteverted uterus<\/strong>: When the uterus bends forward, it is bent forward.
