A “kind-hearted” young father has died due to a medical misdiagnosis.
Josh Warner, 25, died from a brain tumor after doctors misdiagnosed it as appendicitis.
After two weeks of headaches and feeling unwell, Warner went to the hospital for a CT scan.
Doctors told him he had appendicitis, even though he had no abdominal pain, and sent him to the hospital for surgery to remove his appendix.
A few hours after returning home after surgery, the self-employed carpenter still felt unwell, so he was readmitted to the hospital, where doctors performed another CT scan.
Tests showed abnormalities in his brain, but doctors said it was a computer error and released him again.
The young father continued to travel to and from the hospital, but was repeatedly turned away.
But when Mr Warner collapsed in his grandparents’ bathroom, he was rushed to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital for another test, which came back with the same results as the previous test at Darent Valley Hospital.
Within 24 hours, doctors at Queen Elizabeth Hospital told him he had a large brain tumor that had spread from the right side of his brain to his back and brain stem, and he was transferred to the oncology ward.
Warner underwent a biopsy on September 5 and was diagnosed with midline glioma, an aggressive brain tumor with a life expectancy of less than a year. brain tumor charity.
Doctors gave Warner three months to live, but he died at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice just 12 days after his diagnosis.
“Josh was fun and loved making people laugh. He was mischievous and had a beautiful soul and a really kind heart and I think that’s why so many people liked him. He touched people’s hearts,” Warner’s mother, Eve Pateman, told SWNS, adding that Warner was a wonderful father, brother and son.
“He wanted to share his story because he didn’t want other people to believe it, and he wanted to highlight the symptoms of brain cancer,” Pateman said.
“I can’t tell you how brave he was through all of this because he was so brave. He never moaned. I think if it were me I would feel sorry for myself, but he never did that.” I didn’t.”

“It was Joshua’s wish that the funds raised be donated to a trust fund for his son. It is truly a beautiful legacy that he was able to leave behind,” Pateman said. “He loved his son so much and it breaks his heart to see Andrew asking for the whereabouts of his father.”
Pateman said Warner immediately began working on brain tumor research because he didn’t want others to go through the same suffering. “He just wanted to give something, even in the most difficult of times,” she said.
Mr Pateman said there was “no question” about Mr Warner’s cause of death, but the coroner said a report was being sent to the coroner’s office “to see if there was a missed opportunity”.
The family has lodged a complaint against the hospital, which repeatedly turned Mr Warner down, and a spokesperson for Darent Valley Hospital and Gravesham NHS Trust said the matter was being investigated.
