GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the United States. Experts say cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in this country.
On TV20’s “Healthier Tomorrows,” Dr. Francisco Macedo, a surgical oncologist at HCA North Florida Hospital, talks about the exciting new cancer treatments available in the region.
“Hepatic artery infusion pumps are chemotherapy delivered directly to the liver,” Macedo said. “This allows us to administer higher concentrations of the drug to patients with less toxicity and side effects.”
