frisco – Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been diagnosed with acute appendicitis, the team announced.
The team said Ms McCarthy experienced abdominal pain on Wednesday morning and “required further tests and was diagnosed with acute appendicitis”.
Mr McCarthy reportedly underwent surgery this afternoon and is expected to be released later that day. He expects to coach Sunday night when the Cowboys host the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboys’ three coordinators will practice until McCarthy returns.
