Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy won’t let appendicitis keep him out of Sunday night’s big game against the Eagles.

The Cowboys announced today that McCarthy is scheduled to undergo surgery today but is still scheduled to coach on Sunday.

“Mike McCarthy, head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, experienced abdominal pain this morning, which required further testing and was diagnosed with acute appendicitis,” the Cowboys said in a statement. “He is currently scheduled to undergo surgery this afternoon, be released later today, and be coached on Sunday night. The Cowboys’ three coordinators will be available starting today until McCarthy returns. We are planning to practice.”
