Doctors were shocked when a man arrived at hospital with a World War I bomb stuck in his rectum.

The incident sparked a bomb scare and led to the partial evacuation of a French hospital on Saturday after an 88-year-old man came calling for help.

A spokesperson for Toulon’s Sainte-Musset hospital said: “An emergency situation occurred between 9pm and 11.30pm on Saturday, with the intervention of bomb disposal personnel, the evacuation of adult and pediatric emergency patients, and the arrival of emergency patients. “It became necessary to divert the situation from an emergency situation.” Said Val Matin.

When bomb disposal experts arrived at the hospital, they examined the man and determined that it was unlikely that a shell more than 8 inches long and 2 inches wide would explode inside the man.

“They reassured us that it was a collector’s item used by the French army during World War I,” the hospital spokesperson added.

“We had to manage risk in a reactive framework. When in doubt, we took every precaution.”

After getting a full explanation from bomb experts, doctors began removing the unusual object from the man’s buttocks. It was thought that men inserted it for sexual pleasure.

But they were stunned by the object of their choice, with one doctor reportedly saying: But shells? I never have! “

Many others on social media also found the choice of subject incredulous.

“I have heard that the army will pull up the rear, but this is too far,” one said.

On the other hand, some people commented, “I wish I had used suppositories!”

Others couldn’t help but make light of the unusual situation, with one user writing: “I guess he wanted to go strong.”

“He was so close to redefining what ‘explosive diarrhea’ was,” another joked.

Another likened the situation to the following episode: Grey’s Anatomy, Meanwhile, another said: “I would have given him lots of Taco Bell and just kept quiet…”

Doctors were forced to take the elderly patient to surgery after initial tests failed to remove the bomb.

There they cut open his abdomen and removed rare antiques.

Thankfully, the man is currently in good health and is expected to make a full recovery, the hospital said.
