Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy returned to the team’s facility on Friday, less than 48 hours after undergoing surgery for acute appendicitis.
Mr. McCarthy, 60 years old; Saidlocalreporter On Friday afternoon, he was cleared by doctors to return to work, saying he was feeling “very well” after the surgery. He said he will not only coach the Cowboys in a crucial game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, but he will do so from his usual spot on the sideline.

Ms McCarthy believed she had a stomach virus when she started feeling stomach pains earlier this week. He said he saw a doctor on Wednesday as the pain worsened and underwent an appendectomy later that day.
The Cowboys’ three coordinators practiced and oversaw game preparations in McCarthy’s absence.

McCarthy’s return is important news for the Cowboys, who currently trail the Eagles by one game in both the NFC East and the race for the conference’s top seed. The Eagles lost to Dallas 28-23 in the teams’ first meeting of the season last month.
