Dr. Bogdan Plotiniak, a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon, is a strong supporter of robotics and other minimally invasive techniques. “Almost any colectomy or rectal prolapse surgery can be performed this way,” he says. “Compared to open surgery, it means less pain, fewer complications and a faster recovery.”
Dr. Plotiniak came to Lehigh Valley Physicians Group (LVPG) Colorectal Surgery – Pocono and Lehigh Valley Hospital – Pocono in March.
Prior to that, he spent six years at Geisinger, where he was promoted to Chief of Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Plotiniak has lived in Stroudsburg since his 2016 and welcomed the opportunity to bring his practice closer to his home. “It’s so rewarding to be a part of the community I serve,” he says. “My patients are almost like family to me.”
